Getting thoughts out of head and into writing is difficult at best, so please forgive my vagueness/jumping topics. ^^;;

I'm very disheartened about the state of our country, though at the same time, it means that no matter who wins the current Presidential/VP election, I have/get to work harder to be involved to keep things going on track in the direction I would like to see them go.

Obviously choosing a good President is important, but I need to research everybody else running for offices at the more local levels, because even if Obama does win (God, please let him!), local people have more of an effect on me directly.

If the Republicans win the Pres/VP elections, we've got to keep them doing the best things for us and not their buddies. We have to keep an eye on keeping our wildlife safe and not let them take any necessary protections away prematurely like they keep trying to do, or our children and future generations won't be able to enjoy them like we have. We have to keep them from banning the books/movies/etc that we enjoy reading/watching/etc. We have to make sure they keep research and developments going in renewable/clean energy (and no, I don't believe in "clean" coal....they can call it that, but it's still awful stuff!).

If Obama wins, the supporters of McCain and Palin are NOT going to want to cooperate at all, so it's going to put a lot of strain and stress on those of us who support Obama. He wants to create change in our country, but he can't do it alone....he'll need all of us to take on our workload and the deadweight of uncooperative-others' to turn this ship around and into the wind. Once we make positive changes for our economy, health, and world-standing, perhaps we'll gain some more supporters.

Also, if Obama wins, we still have to make sure Palin (and others) don't go back to promoting aerial wolf/etc hunts and other unfair practices. Ruining our ecosystems will only have bad effects on everything else. Tourism is a huge industry. Nobody's going to want to come here if we kill everything for the sake of money and ego-boosting (by this I mean hunters killing the biggest, best bucks out of herds and claiming to be "helping" keep the deer populations "in control," then blaming local predators when those herds are left with small/weaker deer, die out, or move on).

Either way, it's up to us to elect the best people on all levels of government, and to put in a lot of personal time to help out our economy, create stable/reliable jobs, and come up with a bearable way to support our aging baby-boomers and following generation(s).

Call me idealistic, but it kind of cheers me up to gain a purpose in this portion of my life. :3

As for the "etc" part, I've just been thinking more about that "Superclass" stuff. If it exists, and I don't see why it wouldn't/couldn't, then I can see how our current economic problems would work in their favor. Yeah, it's a conspiracy of sorts, and I know what 2 Gryphon and others think about conspiracy theories, but I'll just put this out there and let you think of it what you will. I'm probably wrong....I usually am about things. X3

With our economy/stock market failing, and the gas shortages, and our war-debts, and other things, food and gas is getting more expensive for everyone. Factories and businesses and even banks are having to lay off workers (some of my friends, included). Jobs are outsourced or threaten to outsource to countries with fewer regulations and people who will work for cheaper rates than American workers will. Perhaps with jobs becoming in such short supply, we are being "taught a lesson/put in our place" by the said-Superclass so that we'll accept low-paying jobs (and if things weren't so friggin expensive, it wouldn't really be so bad for everybody to take a slight pay-cut, myself included, to get our economy stablized again and on a better path, as long as we're able to afford the things we need. Though, I know this will be called foolish thinking that nobody would ever accept willingly).

There is probably more to this theory of mine, but I've gotta get ready for work now. ^^;;

Also, be gentle if you're gonna pick this post apart and tell me I'm wrong, please. I know I don't understand the way a lot of things work (such as the stock market and the economy), but I just want to put my opinions/etc out there into the mix. ^^;;;;;;

There are lots of things I wish I could do.

Drawing is one.

Winning verbal conflicts is another.

I'm kinda telling myself that I didn't really lose, because accepting a loss makes it definite. Perhaps I'm just in denial, but my ego could use a boost. Then again, I wasn't looking to start a fight...I was only making a statement. But when someone takes your exact words and switches it back around, it's pretty much starting a fight. So I tell myself that SHE turned my statement into a fight, and then two or three of her friends jumped all jumped in. I'm just thinking and hoping not continuing the "discussion" was the best thing to do.

Anyway, I know this is vague and really stupid to get upset over, and I'll probably delete this a few minutes after I post it, but just getting all this off my mind and out there helps.

I'm always at a loss of defending myself and my beliefs against anybody. <_<

I think I may have hit a squirrel today on my way to work. I drove around the dead body of some little fuzzy creature that was on the road, and a few seconds later this squirrel came skipping across from the other side of the road. I swerved a bit but I'm not sure whether I hit or missed it. I turned around to go look, hoping I had missed it, and I saw a tiny fuzzy-looking thing. Not a whole squirrel, whatever it was...it was so small that I couldn't really tell without my glasses. I hope I missed it. I know it is/was bound to happen one day that I hit something with a car, but it doesn't make it any easier to deal with.

I don't know anybody who gets as upset at the thought of killing something as I do, though, even by accident. I don't really care what they think, though...every creature's life is worth as much to them as mine does to me, and I don't wanna die any sooner than I must. ^^;;

Also, today marks 8 years since my dad died of cancer. I need to find time to go by his grave and visit. Maybe Saturday, after work. I miss him terribly. ._.

My mate is home from Italy for a couple of weeks, but I won't get to see him during his visit. He lives in CA and I'm in NC, but we're planning to see each other for a week or two this coming summer, and I'm looking forward to that visit very much already. ^^

I've got to figure out what my skills are. What I'm good at doing. Where my niche in life is going to be. And I have to shake off this negative attitude that's got me in a chokehold.

One good sign, I suppose, is that I DO realize that I need to make these changes in myself. :3

Spreading the word to those on my f-list who aren't already members. :3

Asikari Wolfe
1 | What is the name of your fursona? Asikari Burali Wolfe
2 | Where did the name of your Fursona come from? I searched various words in an English-to-Swahili translator and wound up with "Askari" (not "Asikari"). Appearently I didn't doublecheck the word when I decided to take Asikari as my name. "Askari" means soldier, guard, or guardian, and I love being the lookout for others. Burali was one of the available surnames in SL when I signed up, and it went with "Asikari" really well. "Wolfe" is my mate's last name and seeing as my character is his character's sister, they'd be in the same family, and therefore have the same name. X3
3 | What species is your fursona and why did you choose that species? Wolf. I originally came up with a wolf-taur creature called a True Howler that I used to be whenI RPed, but I much prefer a simple anthro-wolf or "feral/quad" wolf form.
4 | What color is your fursona and why? natural colors: gray, white, reddish-brown. Gray body, white underside, chest, throat, part of the muzzle, and white and reddish-brown face markings (see userpic). My tail fades from gray to reddish-brown with a white tip. This tip has gray and reddish-brown hairs mixed in. I also have a reddish-brown patch of fur on each of my sides. I just never thought about being something unnatural/crazy-colored.
5 | What is your fursona's personality and how does this compare to your RL personality? Asi's personality is me without my everyday insecurities and restrictions. She is who I would be if I could.
6 | What is one item your fursona owns that is significant to you in RL? She has twin Tuskish daggers with zig-zag blades and ivory and emerald handle/decorations. I wish I owned a pair of those and knew how to fight with them IRL. (Not REAL ivory, though. ^^;;)
7 | What is one thing you think you would say to your fursona if you could meet?

I don't know what I would say but I WOULD want to figure out a way to integrate myself into her instead of her integrating back into me.

8 | What is one thing your fursona would say to you if you could meet?

Asi: Wanna play? ^.~

9 | How has your fursona changed over the years? She's changed names from Lone to Asikari and species from True Howler to anthro-wolf.

10 | How long have you had this fursona? I've had the basic idea forever, before I even made her/me into a "character".

Quick mini-update of stuff and things

My attention span is growing shorter every day, it seems. I'm thinking I should seriously look into herbal supplements for memory and concentration. ;.;

Saw this on a community's post on my f-list page. Some girl in Tampa, Florida, needs a new home soon for her two ferrets, else "her mom will poison them or turn them loose"...she's asking $50 for the ferrets and lots of their ferret supplies, but I dunno...if she's concerned about the ferrets, mehbeh she'll sell for less or give them away if somebody's that good at barganing:
http://community.livejournal.com/ferretattitude/2203745.html

I'm getting fewer and fewer hours at work, which sucks...as much as I hate getting called in early, I'm going to have to accept any call-ins I get to up my hours. I know they're about to hire a few more people, so I expected a drop in hours, but I just hate hearing "you need to ask your boss for more hours" every week from mom. I started out with 36 hours my first week back, then 34, then 32, and tomorrow starts the new payweek, and I have 27 hours, but no new people have actually started working yet, so I don't know how the hours are going away so steadily. Maybe they're just being shifted around. Anyway, I guess as long as they don't go much lower things will be ok. ^^;; I'm happy that I DO have a job...not everyone is so lucky, lately. The number of applications our store got in the past few weeks from people of all ages is crazy. @.@

What doesn't make sense is that I told mom the store was hiring, and she said again that I should ask for more hours. o.O Uh...if even one new person is actually hired, that's FEWER hours that are available for everyone else. Common sense, or am I REALLY that out of touch with the world? I mean, I know I'm not quite on the same page yet, but really.... ^^;;

This gas shortage my area is experiencing is quite amusing! I'll have to write more thoughts on it later, maybe. I wonder how widespread it is across the US?

And a random shout-out to mah favorite huskeh, and mah favorite foxxeh, and my favorite blue wolfeh, and mah favorite foxxiekat-eh!!

And, of course, mah mate!! ^.~

The moon was beautiful last night, but according to The Old Farmer's Almanac, the full moon is tomorrow, September 15th, and it's a "Full Harvest Moon". Hopefully I will keep this in mind and try to do....something special. I don't know what, though. There was such an energy from last night's moon and it was very powerful, exciting, but calming all at once. My hearing's not that great, but last night as I watched the moon outside I heard a dog barking on the other side of the woods, and an owl. I never hear owls. ^o.O^

Seeing as I lack the artistic and writing abilities of many people (especially furres), I've decided to put my creative energy into planning a wedding (Lupis's and mine) for fun. My mate is also helping, as we've decided to make this a little project of sorts. ^.^

It's going to have a theme like nature, wolves, or furries. We're still considering our wedding colors. Lupis likes red and black. I like white and blue. But to tie in with the rave we want for the reception/after-party, I thought it would be cool to have white with bright glowstick colors, and use those skinny, bendy glowsticks in my hair and dress. Black and red for Lupis and his Best Man/groomsmen might work along with the white and glowsticks somehow, if we tie enough color elements together. :3 We know for the reception we want to try and reserve a ballroom/area at a fur con, most likely FC (FURther CONfusion), for our furry rave. :3

Instead of doing what most people do by starting with a budget, in this project we're choosing the things we want, then adding or scaling back accordingly until things work out. Right now I've estimated what our wedding would cost, and so far, it's half the cost of an "average" wedding, so hopefully we'll have lots of room to work things in or around until everything's just the way we both want it. ^^

I had a rant about work here but I don't want to ruin all this good stuff with it. ^^;;

-Should I read this popular Twilight series? Is it really THAT good? o.o

-Despite the same old daily problems...for the moment, I'm enjoying my job. ^^

-Depending on how much time and energy I have in November, maybe I'll use that...NaNoWriMo thing....to force out some writing. I wish I could live for and enjoy writing, like I used to. ^^;; It's awful the effect of one look and one small comment can have on someone, like when my ex in high school looked at me strangely and asked "Why do you write?" like it was a childish thing to do...ever since then, I haven't been able to pick up a pencil to enjoy writing without that going through my head and making me put down the pencil and go find something else to do.

Ok, off to clean house! :3

I chose this name because I enjoy the Age of Empires games, and while reading the booklet that came with the very first onein the series, in which was told the history of the different civilizations in the game, I decided the Assyrians were/are the coolest, most interesting civilization there ever has been. ^^ The "wolfess" part comes from my participation in the Therian and furry communities/fandoms. :3
